A visit in June 2005, marked Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai Pandya’s first trip to Madrid, Spain. During the four-day stay, Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai gave three different discourses to three distinct audiences, which were very well received.
On the first day, a discourse ‘Religion in a Global Context’ was held at Motiramji Fabiani’s residence, who had organised Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai’s trip to Spain. The 90-minute discourse in Hindi was attended by a large number of people from the Sindhi community in Madrid.
The following evening, a larger audience, which included Indians as well as Spanish from Madrid, gathered at the temple to hear Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai. The evening started with bhajans and continued with a discourse and a 30-minute ‘Introduction to Meditation’. The highlight of the evening, however, was that the entire discourse was being translated into Spanish in real-time! That is, as Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai gave the discourse in English, an interpreter translated, sentence by sentence, into Spanish for the Spanish-speaking audience members to understand.
On the third evening, Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai met a group of youngsters at the temple. The topic for this interactive discussion was the meaning and significance of being a Hindu. It was an enlightening experience as many myths were cleared and faith duly restored!
