The Geeta Gyan Yagna, a much awaited annual event in New York organized
by Samakti Mission, USA continued its journey towards enlightenment
in June 2005 with Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai Pandya’s discourses on the
10th Chapter of Bhagavad Geeta. Devotees gathered at a public school
auditorium, the usual venue, for the two-day event.
The Geeta’s Chapter 10, known as Vibhooti Yoga, focuses on the many
manifested attributes of the Lord. However, more than just narrating
a list of manifestations, Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai explained the meaning
and spiritual significance of Lord Krushna by saying, “He is omnipotent,
omniscient and omnipresent . If we can awaken our senses we will be
able to receive His subtleties, see Him and experience His divine presence
everywhere around us.” During the course of four discourses well-attended
by seekers of Geeta and Indian Scriptures, Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai
defined Vibhooti as obvious presence and discussed various topics ranging
from man (mind) and buddhi (intellect) to anubhav (experience) and satya
(truth). Each day the discourse concluded with Aarti and Prasad.
The New York chapter of Samakti Mission has been organizing Geeta discourses
for the past ten years and plans to continue until all 18 chapters of
the Bhagavad Geeta are completed. The Geeta Gyan Yagna will continue
with discourses on Chapter 11 in Summer, 2006.
