Samakti mission USA organized its second meditation retreat on June
4 and 5, 2005 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bridgewater, New Jersey. The
subject was Ishopanishad. It was attended by over 100 people in the
quest of knowledge, wisdom and harmony.
During these two days the attendees were enlightened by Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai
Pandya. He gave a clear idea of our rich Vedic literature, starting
from Samhita to the Upanishads. He translated and vividly explained
the essence of Ishopanishad, in his meaningful yet easily understandable
discourses.
Some of the pearls of wisdom he shared at the retreat included:
Consider life as God’s gift.
Treasure human life, live as servants of God and seek knowledge through
humility.
Take charge of your mind and desires, direct your senses to do good
for others and think good of others.
Make sacrifice for others; do not be greedy.
Do not think yourself as Karta, the doer; consider yourself as Nimitta,
an instrument of God.
Be patient and tolerant. Impatience makes your vision foggy and leads
to making wrong choices.
Live simply and never feel jealous of others.
Rebirth or liberation from the cycle of birth and death depends upon
your karma, which makes your existence worthwhile. During the last moments
of life, one remembers and is guided by his karma towards his onward
journey.
He also conducted four meditation sessions which helped the devotees
to activate their various Chakra, energy centers, and channelizing the
energy for their spiritual well-being. At the end of each session everyone
shared their experiences. It was amazing to see everyone felt more rejuvenated
and relaxed after these sessions.
This event was efficiently organized by Drs. Jatin and Laxmi Kapadia
. Food was catered by Rajbhog from New York. Minesh Patel whole-heartedly
arranged for accommodating the seekers during this retreat.
